Expect to spend two days in mountainous areas of West Serbia, surrounded only by pure and intact nature. You’ll learn a bit about the local way of life and you’ll try local food. First Day

#YourSerbiaHost will pick you up at 8:30 from your Belgrade address and you’ll set off towards Tara National Park. You’ll head towards Bajina Bašta town and during the drive you’ll enjoy picturesque landscapes. First stop will be a café-restaurant on Drina River with a very nice view to the famous Drina River House.

Next stop is the source of river Vrelo, also known as river Godina (Year), thanks to its length of 365m. Here by the fresh water you can have a lunch break in the local restaurant (lunch is not included in the price).

After lunch break we’ll continue to Tara Mountain and its attractions. The ride stays at the parking lot and we will take you on a walk through the forest which is older than human kind. In Carpet Meadow your senses will wake up and you’ll walk on a carpet-like surface. Here you’ll learn about a rare endemic Tertiary species, the Pancic Spruce.

Till the next spot the drive takes through the forest to a point from which you’ll continue on foot. After a short hike on a forest trail you’ll reach the most iconic viewpoint with its spectacular view over the lake Perućac.

After all of the walks you’ll continue the trip via Zlatibor and Zlatar mountains to the town Sjenica. It’s located in the high-plain of Pešter 1000m above sea level. Upon arrival to Sjenica you’ll have some free time to explore this Ottoman looking town on your own. Tips and recommendations will be provided.

Second Day

First day was reserved for Tara and its vicinity, but the second day is all about different activities in nature. After breakfast you’ll continue in the direction of Uvac Canyon.

For the day in the Uvac Canyon you can have one of two options. First is to take a hike from the camp site located on the bank of Uvac River to the Molitva peak with a famous observation deck. Hike is approx. 3-4h in both directions and it’s not demanding. Second option is to take a drive with 4×4 or a van (group size dependent) to Molitva peak over a local dirt road.

Whichever option you take, you won’t miss the main attraction here, the Griffon vultures. You’ll hear a story about how they were saved from extinction and how many are out there now.

From Molitva peak you’ll return to the camp site, where a local family prepares food in their “tavern under the stars”. Here you’ll try their homemade cooking during lunch (not included in the price) and hear some stories. In case of bad weather we’ll take you to a nearby tavern-restaurant instead.

After all of these activities this two day tour to Tara and Uvac Canyon comes to an end. After lunch we are taking you back to Belgrade.
