Tour Flow
After #YourSerbiaHost picks you up from your hotel or other address in the city (the usual start time is 10am) you’ll head to the first sight on the route, a plateau in front of The Old Palace. The Old Palace, today’s City Assembly of Belgrade together with The National Parliament on the opposite side of the plateau is the venue which for the people of Belgrade has great importance. We celebrate major achievements of Serbian athletes, but we also protest and change political regimes here.
Further on you’ll continue to Dedinje, Belgrade’s most prestigious residential area. Here you’ll witness two aspects of Serbian society: the royal heritage reflected in the compound of The Royal Palace, which belonged to the last Serbian royal family Karađorđević and The House of Flowers (closed on Mondays), the mausoleum of communist leader Josip Broz Tito – former Yugoslavian president.
Another must on the itinerary is The Church of Saint Sava. It’s not only that it’s the biggest Orthodox Church in the world, but it also impresses with its internal decorations done in mosaics. The gold plated mosaics were just finished during the 2020 and 2021, even though that the construction process started back in 1904. More details you’ll learn on the spot while the Belgrade private city tour advances.
Next stop after the church is The Republic Square known for The National Theater, The National Museum and The Statue of Prince Mihailo. You’ll explore entire city center on foot and you’ll cover the legendary landmarks of the downtown Belgrade: Prince Mihailo’s Street, King Peter’s Street, The Church of The Holy Archangel Michael, also known as The Orthodox Cathedral, The Question Mark Tavern, which is the oldest operating restaurant in Serbia.
At the last spot you’ll have a chance to take a break in an authentic ambience. Over a cup of coffee or drink we’ll summarize the Belgrade private tour before we take you back to your drop-off location (the usual finish time is around 2pm).
