#YourSerbiaHost will pick you up at your Belgrade address (usual pickup time is 9am) and you’ll travel to Timisoara through the picturesque Banat region. On the way you’ll get a chance to hear about life in this part of Serbia and Romania from your guide. After hour and a half, you’ll get to the border control (note to bring the passport), also note that after you cross to Romania, time zone will change to EET (+1 hour from Serbia).
Upon arriving in Timisoara, you can begin exploring the city’s remarkable landmarks. Known for its charming Baroque architecture, large squares, and open pedestrian areas, Timisoara offers plenty to discover. The most iconic site is the Metropolitan Orthodox Cathedral, built in the 1930s in a neo-eclectic style. From this impressive church begins a vast pedestrian zone with many streets waiting to be explored.
As you soak in all the beauty of this historic place, make sure to check the colorful Unirii Square. This is a perfect place for a coffee break in some of the many outdoor cafes, surounded by stunning Baroque and Art Nouveau buildings, all painted in a variety of beautiful colors. Among many things, you can also visit the historic Marie Theresia Bastion, Victory Square, some of the museums or take a look into the famous Rose garden.
After all the exploration and the lunch break, you’ll meet your guide and head back to Belgrade.
This tour is possible to book as a day trip with free time for self-exploration or optionally it can be with guided walking tour by the local guide. In case you decide for the self-exploration all tips and recommandations will be provided.
Belgrade to Timisoara Transfer Tour Option
This day trip tour can be modified to be a transfer tour from Belgrade to Timisoara (or vice versa). In this case, on the way you’ll visit a very interesting village Kovačica – home of naive art in Vojvodina. This village has been known since the 1950s for its unique naive arts style, nurtured by Slovak population who live in this place. Visit to Kovačica naive art museum, as well as to a local gallery which exhibits contemporary works are part of the experience. After visiting the museum and gallery you’ll have a unique chance to see how violins are produced in the workshop of master Jan Nemeček. He and his family have a long tradition in violin making, so you’ll be able to take a peak over his shoulder while he is doing his magic.
