Tour Flow
Downtown
Your private tour starts at 9 am from your accommodation and the first stop on the itinerary is Belgrade Fortress, the historical core of the city. From Roman to modern time, walking around Fortress is like traveling through time. Here you will find attractions such as: Ružica Church, Zindan Gate, Despot’s Tower, Victor Monument, Military Museum… #YourSerbiaHost will explain to you all these sights and their importance.
After exploring the Fortress, you will meet and feel Knez Mihailova Street – the most vibrant street in the city center. This pedestrian zone keeps some of the most beautiful architecture and it is a true „heart of the city“. While walking and soaking the atmosphere of Knez Mihalova your guide will tell you interesting stories and bring back some old times of this cultural district.
The next stop is a gorgeous Saint Sava Church which dominates over Vracar Plateau and keeps the memory of the most important Serbian saint from the XII century. This stunning white marble church is one of the biggest Orthodox churches in the world. Besides its impressive size, this is also one of the most beautiful churches in Serbia. Its beauty is hidden inside with its interior decoration. Millions of mosaic cubic pieces in thousands of shades make a unique masterpiece of art.
Avala
From the urban city center, you will move on to Avala Mountain which is the most popular nature sight in Belgrade. Don’t expect some intensive hiking, Avala is only 511 m high. It is everyone’s favorite picnic area with a few important landmarks which you are going to explore. First, you will check a monument of the Unknown Hero which was built in the 1930s and has a very intriguing background story.
The second sight is the famous Avala TV Tower (204m high) which is the symbol of the mountain. This tower was destroyed in 1999 by NATO and restored 10 years later. On the very top, you will find an amazing 360 degrees observation deck and a restaurant from which you can enjoy breathtaking views of Belgrade’s great area.
After exploring all these sights of Belgrade and Avala Mountain tour ends and we return to your accommodation or we can drop you somewhere in the city center.
