First Day
#YourSerbiaHost will pick you up at 8:30 from your Belgrade address and the journey takes you toward Tara National Park, passing through the scenic landscapes of western Serbia.
Your first stop is a café-restaurant on the Drina River, offering a stunning view of the iconic Drina River House, a symbol of the region’s charm.
Next, you’ll visit the source of the Vrelo River, also called the “Year River” for its unique length of 365 meters. Enjoy a lunch break (optional, not included) at a riverside restaurant known for its local specialties.
The trip continues to Tara Mountain, where you’ll explore an ancient forest older than human existence. After a scenic drive through the woods, you’ll set off on a short hike along a forest trail, leading to Banjska Stena, one of the region’s most iconic viewpoints, offering breathtaking vistas of Lake Perućac and the surrounding natural beauty.
In the late afternoon, your journey continues through the picturesque Zlatibor and Zlatar mountains to the town of Sjenica, located on the Pešter Plateau at 1,000 meters above sea level. Upon arrival, after checking in to your Hotel Borovi enjoy free time to explore this charming town, known for its Ottoman heritage.
Second Day
While the first day focuses on Tara and its surroundings, the second day offers an entirely new set of nature-based adventures. After breakfast, the journey continues toward the stunning Uvac Canyon.
For the day in the Uvac Canyon you can have one of two options:
- Hiking to Molitva Peak: Embark on a 3-4 hour round-trip hike from the riverside campsite to the famous Molitva peak, home to a breathtaking observation deck. The trail is moderately easy and suitable for most hikers.
- Drive to Molitva Peak: For a more relaxed experience, take a scenic drive along a local road directly to Molitva peak.
Whichever option you take, you won’t miss the main attraction here, the Griffon vultures. Learn about their inspiring conservation story and how they’ve been brought back from the brink of extinction.
After taking in the views at Molitva Peak, return to the campsite for a traditional lunch (not included).
With these unforgettable experiences, your two-day Tara and Uvac Canyon tour concludes. After lunch, we’ll head back to Belgrade, arriving in the evening.
